Overview

  • thalo’s Jobs & Careers Section has been created as a FREE service for individuals interested in creative fields. The site lists employment opportunities in a wide variety of industries--including fine arts, graphic arts, decorative arts, performing arts, and more.
  • If you are interested in finding a job, it is FREE AND EASY. All you have to do is “Search” for a job and/or “Post” your resume and career objectives.
  • Finding a job on thalo Jobs & Careers is easy.

  • There are two (2) ways to find a job. It’s free and it’s easy.
    • To “Search” for a job:
      • Click on Jobs/Careers.
      • Click on the “Looking for Work” - Search for a Job.
        • You can search for a job by keyword, city, state, zip code, job category and job title. Fill in the appropriate information and click on the “Go” button
      • Review your results by clicking on any of the jobs that interest you and you will get more detailed information about the job and how to proceed.
    • You can “Post” your resume and cover letter, skills, and work samples to let employers know that you are looking for work.
      • You must first create an account. Creating an account is free and easy.
      • After you have created an account, click on “Job/Careers.”
      • Click on “Looking for Work” - Post a Resume.
      • You must fill in all the required information, denoted by an asterisk. Otherwise, your information will NOT be posted. It should be noted that since you have created an account and filled in the required information, all potential employers will be able to respond to your “Post” and view your resume, cover letter, and work samples.
      • Choose at least one relevant job category for your post.
      • Use the “Describe Your Skills” box to describe your skills and ideal job.
      • If you want to upload your resume, cover letter and/or work samples, click on the “Upload Files” link in the “Upload Resume and Cover Letter” section. (The acceptable formats are .doc, .docx, and .pdf.) Browse for your resume and/or cover letter. Repeat the process to upload a second file.
      • If you want to upload your work samples, click on the “Upload Files” link under the “Work Samples” section. (The acceptable formats are .jpg, .gif, and .png.) You may upload up to five (5) work samples.
      • Confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, and agree to the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and the Job Seeker Agreement
      • Click on the “Review This Post” button to review your posting and use the “Edit Post” button if you wish to make changes. Remember to save your "Post."
      • Your listing will appear under the selected job categories and is searchable by keywords. You can manage your posts in the “My Job Posts” section of your account.

Account Information

  • How much does it cost to search for a job?

Nothing!  It is FREE to “Search” for a job as well as “Post” your resume, cover letter, work samples and career objectives on the site to let employers know that you are looking for work.  Please note that if you want to post information to our site, you are required to create a free account.

  • Do I have to create an account in order to use the Jobs & Careers Section?

You do not have to create an account if you would like to “Search” for a job. You need to create an account only when you want to “Post” a listing. However, creating an account will give you access to the following features:

  • Correspond with any of the employers “Looking to Hire.”
  • “Post” your own resume, cover letter, work samples, and career objectives that includes detailed information such as the type of job you are looking for, your skills, your desired compensation, and hours.
  • Save your “Search” results.
  • Get automatic email alerts, if desired.
  • How do I create an account?

Creating an account is free and easy to do.

To create an account, follow these five (5) steps:

  • Click on “Register.”
  • Fill out the form. All required fields are denoted by an asterisk.
  • Enter the Captcha.
  • Confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy by clicking on the “check” box.
  • Click on “Register.”
  • Congratulations, you have created an account!

After you create an account, you will be able to take advantage of all the following features:

  • Correspond with any of the employers “Looking to Hire.”
  • “Post” your own resume, cover letter, work samples, and career objectives that includes detailed information such as the type of job you are looking for, your skills, your desired compensation, and hours.
  • Save your “Search” results.
  • Get automatic email alerts, if desired.
  • I forgot my password. How do I log in?

Click on the “Forgot Username/Password” link below the login screen. You will then be prompted to type in the email address associated with your account. An email will be sent to you that includes your username and a temporary password. Please be sure to log in using the temporary password and then reset your password. To reset your password, click on "How do I change my password?"

  • How do I change my email address?
  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click on the “change” link next to your email address.
  3. Type your new email address into the "New Email" text box.
  4. Confirm your new email address by typing it into the "Confirm Email" text box.
  5. Click on the "Change Email" button.
  6. A confirmation email will be sent to your new email address. This email will include instructions on how to change your email address. Once you complete the instructions, your new email address will be activated.
  7. If you click "Cancel," no changes will be made to your existing address.
  • How do I change my password?
  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click on the “change” link next to your password.
  3. Type your new password into the "New Password" text box.
  4. Confirm your new password by typing it into the "Confirm Password" text box.
  5. Click on the "Change Password" button.
  6. Your Profile will be updated with the new password
  7. If you click "Cancel," no changes will be made to your existing password.
  • Can I change my username?

No, you are not allowed to change your username. All of your correspondence, posts and saved searches are linked to your username. If you have forgotten your username, click on the “Forgot Username/Password” link below the log in screen. An email will be sent to you that includes your username and a temporary password. Please be sure to log in using the temporary password and then reset your password. To reset your password, click on "How do I change my password?"

  • How do I edit/update my account?

Log in to your account. Click on the “My Profile” tab. Change or update the information as desired. Next, click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page. Then, you will see a message that states “Profile Information Updated.”

  • When will the "trash" in "My Inbox" be automatically deleted?

The "trash" in your Inbox will be automatically deleted after sixty (60) days.

  • Can I use the same account information (i.e. username and password) when I am “Looking for Work” as I do if I am “Looking to Hire?”

Yes, you can.

  • Does my account ever expire?

No. Your information will be stored with us unless you receive an email from us advising you that your account has been removed, which is done at thalo’s discretion.

  • Will my contact information be sold to any third parties?

Thalo values you and will respect your privacy. Thalo collects information about you through the website in an effort to improve your online experience and to communicate with you about thalo’s products, services, and promotions. Your name and personal details are not sold or shared with any non-affiliated company or agency. However, as described in our Privacy Policy, thalo may share your information, under certain circumstances, with our website development partners to improve website functionality. Search for a Job

  • How do I “Search” for a job?
  • Click on Jobs/Careers.
  • Click on the “Looking for Work” - Search for a Job.
  • You can search for a job by keyword, city, state, zip code, job category, and job title. Fill in the appropriate information and click on the “Go” button.
  • Review your results by clicking on any of the jobs that interest you and you will get more detailed information about the job and how to proceed.
  • What is the “Get Alerts” feature and how does it work?

The “Get Alerts” feature allows you to be updated automatically, via email, every time a new job listing is posted within the categories you chose. To use this feature, simply click on the “Get Alerts” button, complete the form and click on “Submit”.

  • How do I get more information about my “Search” results?

When you review your “Search” results, you can get more information about the job by clicking on any of the job titles that interest you. Follow the prompts to apply for the position.

  • Where do I find the salary information for a job?

The salary information for a job will be listed next to the “Job Title” when you “search” for a job.  You can click on the job title that you are interested in to get  more detailed information about the opportunity.

  • How do I respond to the job postings from my “Search” results?

Click on any of the job titles that interest you to get more detailed information about the job. To respond, fill out the required fields denoted by an asterisk and type your message in the message box. Complete the Captcha and then click the “Send” button.

  • How do I print a job posting from my “Search” results?

Click on any of the job titles that interest you to get more detailed information about the job. To print the detailed information from a job posting, click on the “Print” icon in the upper, right-hand corner.

  • How do I email a copy of a job posting to a friend?

Click on any of the job titles that interest you to get more detailed information about that opportunity. To email the detailed information from a job posting to yourself or someone else, click on the “Email” icon in the lower, right-hand corner.

  • Does thalo ensure that all job postings are from reputable companies?

Thalo is not involved in the actual transaction between potential employers and potential employees. As a result, thalo has no control over the quality, safety, or legality of the jobs or posted profiles, the truth or accuracy of the listings, or the ability of users to obtain employment or fill open employment positions. Job seekers are solely responsible for negotiating all terms of employment, and thalo makes no representations or warranties in relation thereto.

  • What happens if I respond to a job posting and no one contacts me?

It is at the employer’s discretion as to whether or not they respond to your application.

  • Does thalo make any commissions if I secure a job through their Jobs & Careers section?

No. thalo does not make a commission from your employment search. However, we do charge employers a fee to post their job on our site.

  • How much does it cost if I am “Looking to Hire” and I want to “Post” a job?

“Post” Your Resume and Career Objectives

  • How does “Posting” a resume, work samples, and/or career objectives help me find a job?

Posting your resume, cover letter, work samples, and career objectives is an opportunity for you to tell potential employers what type of job you are looking for. You can include appropriate information such as desired job title, work hours, compensation, resume, and work samples. In your own words, describe your skills and the type of job that you are looking for in the “Describe Your Skills” box. For more information on how to post your resume, cover letter, work samples, and career objectives, see “How do I “Post” my resume and/or career objectives?"

  • How do I “Post/Upload” my career objectives, resume, cover letter, and/or work samples?
  • You must first create an account. Creating an account is free and easy.

  • How many resumes and work samples can I upload?

You are allowed to upload one (1) resume and/or one (1) cover letter and five (5) work samples per job “Post.”

  • How do I review the Posting of my resume, cover letter, work samples, and career objectives?

You will have an opportunity to review the “Post” prior to submitting it. To review your job posting after it has been submitted, log into your account and go to the “My Job Posts” section. Click on the “Post” that you would like to review.

  • What if I cannot find my “Post” on the site?

If you cannot find your “Post” on the site, go back and review your post and make sure that you chose all the relevant categories for your “Post.” If you are still having difficulties, you may email us at support@thalo.com and we will be happy to assist you. If you would like us to contact you by telephone, please be sure to include your phone number when you send us your email.

  • Who will potentially be reviewing my resume and work samples?

All resumes and work samples posted on this site are considered public information and can be viewed by any individual or company. Please be 100% sure that you want your resume and work samples to be viewed by the public. For more information, visit our Privacy Policy.

  • How do I know if anyone has looked at my resume and work samples?

The only way to know if someone has looked at your resume and work samples is if they respond to your “Post.” We do not track the number of views of your resume. You will only be notified when an employer responds to your resume and “Post.”

  • How do I edit/update my resume, cover letter, and work samples?

To edit or update your resume, cover letter, and work samples, you first must delete the current version of your resume, cover letter, and/or work samples. Then re-upload your updated resume, cover letter, and/or work samples. Do this by selecting the “My Job Posts” section of your account and clicking on the “Post” that you would like to edit/update. Click on the “Edit” link and edit the existing information on the form.

  • How do I delete my resume, cover letter, and work samples?

To delete your resume, cover letter, and work samples, go to the “My Job Posts” section of your account and click on the “Post” that you would like to edit/delete. Click on the “Edit” link and delete the existing information.

  • Should I include an email address with my “Post?”

No. It is not necessary to include an email address with your “Post.” All potential employers will be able to respond to your “Post” through “My Inbox” in the thalo.com website.

  • How do I block specific companies from seeing my resume, cover letter, and work samples?

You CANNOT block individuals or specific companies from seeing your resume, cover letter or work samples. All resumes, cover letters, and work samples posted on this site are considered public information and can be viewed by any individual or company. Please be 100% sure that you want your resume, cover letter, and work samples to be viewed by the public. For more information, visit our Privacy Policy.

Contacting Employers and Applying for a Job

  • I found a job I am interested in. How do I apply for the job?

Once you have found a job through your “Search” results, select it and you will be prompted to submit information, which will be sent to the employer. Please make sure you fill out all required information, denoted by an asterisk. Once you have completed the form, enter the Captcha and hit “Send.”

  • What happens if I am not contacted by the employer within five (5) to seven (7) business days?

It is at the employer’s discretion as to whether or not they respond to your application.

  • How can I review all the jobs I applied to via email?

You can review the jobs that you have applied to by going to the “My Job Posts” section of your account. The jobs that you have applied to will be listed under the “My Posts Seeking Jobs” section.

  • What is a bookmark and how can it help me?

A bookmark allows you to flag a job posting. To bookmark a specific posting, click on the “Bookmark” link at the top right-hand side of the page when you are filling out a “Post”. Your bookmarks can be reviewed by logging into your account and selecting the “My Job Posts” tab.

  • Do I need a thalo account if I want to apply for a job?

Yes. You need a thalo account if you want to apply for a job. Creating an account is FREE and easy to do.

  • Do I need to upload a resume, cover letter, and/or work samples if I want to apply for a job?

No. It is not necessary to upload a resume, cover letter, and/or work samples when applying for a job. However, it is necessary to fill in all required information, denoted by an asterisk.

  • Do I need a cover letter if I want to apply for a job?

No. You do not need a cover letter to apply for a job. However, if you wish to include a cover letter, you can upload it with your resume.

  • Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

Yes. We encourage you to explore as many opportunities as possible.

  • What if a link that was sent to me via email does not work?

If you have any technical difficulties regarding a link that was sent to you via email, copy and paste the link directly from your email message into your browser. If this doesn’t fix the problem, you may email us at support@thalo.com and we will be happy to assist you. If you would like us to contact you by telephone, please be sure to include your telephone number when you send us your email.

  • What if I have trouble accessing certain pages on thalo’s Jobs & Careers Section?

You should enable “cookies,” at least temporarily, to properly utilize all of the information on our site.
