I am a visual artist & international art educator currently living in Danbury, Connecticut. Originally from upstate New York, I am a first generation Lebanese American who was always surrounded by the appreciation for all art forms. The trade and craft of jewelry has been a skill set for several generations among my family members. This is where I gained inspiration and a drive to always notice the smaller details that bring all works to life. By playing with the jewelry and drawing what I saw as a child, I learned to emphasis structures and lines that made up the small elements. Along with the encouragement and assistance from my parents, who both are artistic as well, I pursued the arts and arts education as my career goal with their full support.
Since my time at university, I’ve always leaned towards watercolor and ink as my medium of choice. I like to explore how much detail I can include without overburdening the pieces. The medium lets me play with layers and color which needs a lot of patience in order to complete my vision. My themes and style influences may slightly differ based on my mood, current address or hunger state, however the line quality and level of details does not change. My works will always be petite in size, complex & ornate.
Currently I reside in Danbury, Connecticut with my cat Mucha & attend Western Connecticut State University where I am working on my second master’s degree (Master of Fine Arts).
