Mark Edward Geyer is best known as the illustrator of The Green Mile and Rose
Madder by Stephen King. Mark is currently illustrating two middle-grade series for
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt: The Inquisitor’s Apprentice series and The Shakespeare
Mysteries. He is illustrating select titles for the Who Was? middle-grade biography
series for Grosset & Dunlap. Mr. Geyer’s children’s book illustration work is in the
American Imagist Collection of The National Museum of American Illustration, Newport,
Rhode Island. His clients include Doubleday, Grosset & Dunlap, Scribner, Viking
Penguin, Dutton Signet, Harcourt Children’s Books, Houghton Mifflin Books for
Children, Conde’ Nast, Hallmark Cards, Time Warner, Advertising Age, and Chicago
Tribune.
The Inquisitor's Apprentice was chosen by Kirkus Reviews as one of the Best-Illustrated Chapter Books of 2011. Book Page says: “Mark Edward Geyer’s illustrations are beautiful and add more depth to the story.” Publisher’s Weekly says: “Mark Edward Geyer’s illustrations add old-fashioned atmosphere.” Mark’s web address is markedwardgeyer.com. Mark is an Adjunct Professor of Illustration for Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in Denver. He comes from a line of French Canadian artists. He was born in Amityville, New York in 1955.
