I was born the first of three children in 1979. I grew up pretty isolated, on a small farm where we ate whatever we grew, raised or caught. Early on, my mother could see I was gifted. My first drawing was of a cat, and it actually looked like a cat. I drew and painted everywhere and on anything. My dad let me paint on the side of the pump house and chicken shed once. In school I excelled in art class, and loved learning the techniques of art. I became absorbed into art. In high school, my first clients were my teachers. Throughout my life I never gave up creating. As I progressed, I developed my own style. I admired my two favorite artists, Van Gogh and Georgia O'Keefe. I began absorbing the line texture and use of blues of Van Gogh with the vibrant colors and blending of O'Keefe. I also like using different mediums, from watercolor to pencil to acrylic. Art is a passion of mine, and I live, breathe and exist for art!
