In August of 2012, Shellise taught herself to paint with acrylics by following the steps in a book. The process relies on intuition to produce objects and abstract shapes. These abstract shapes often become recognizable objects which tell a spiritual story. Shellise Berry creates vibrant paintings that emanate a sense of peace, hope and serenity. Her process of layering colors by making marks produces a painting that tells a story that is spiritual and thought provoking.
