Thomas Welsh is an illustrator and professional writer based in Youngstown, Ohio. He earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in studio art from Youngstown State University in June 1986, and later studied intaglio printmaking at Kent State University. Examples of Tom's illustration have appeared in local, regional and international publications. In 2009, he earned a Ph.D. in cultural foundations of education at Kent State University. Since then, he has authored four books on topics related to local and regional history. Tom's artwork and illustration reflect his strong interest in the community.
