A Journalism major at the University of Mississippi, I have worked as a former newspaper reporter, public relations writer and advertising production artist among other occupations. For most of the last decade, I’ve worked for non-profit art organizations and just recently retired. My first sales were my hand-painted posters made for high school friends. Since then, I've gone through many different phases and styles. My love of nature continues to shape my art. Whether exploring the deep northern woods or gathering shells on the ocean’s shores, I am most inspired when immersed in the natural world. My mixed-media pieces attempt to convey this passion for earth's color and texture through such diverse materials as paper, fabric, metal and paint, while my textured acrylics lean towards abstracted expressionism. Although I was born in England, my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was young. I have lived and traveled all over the U.S. My husband and I recently retired to Florida where I now work part-time and teach art on the side. In my spare time, I enjoy painting and riding my horse.
