Thalo Sponsors the 19th Annual Critics Choice Awards

SANTA MONICA, CA –Thalo, parent company of doddle, was proud to once again sponsor the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, held January 16th in Santa Monica, CA (as seen in photos 1 – 6). The Critics' Choice Movie Awards is a major indicator as to who will be going home happy on Oscar night.
And while this year is undoubtedly one of the most competitive yet, there are three clear front runners for this season's biggest awards. They are 12 Years A Slave, Gravity and American Hustle.
Indeed, at this year's Critics' Choice Awards, the bookmaker's pick to land the Academy Award for Best Picture, Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, won the equivalent prize, with Alfonso Cuaron walking away with the Best Director honor for Gravity.
Along with Cauron's space drama, American Hustle has ten Oscar nominations, many of which are in the main categories. Predictably, David O Russell's comic crime drama performed well at the Critics' Choice, winning Best Acting Ensemble, Best Comedy, Best Makeup and Best Actress in a Comedy going to the superb Amy Adams (as seen in photo 7).
The Critics' Choice Movie Awards splits many of its main categories by genre (in this case comedy and action), something the Academy does not. As a result, the competition come Oscar time is fierce.
This year, the closest thing to a certainty comes in the Best Actress category in the shape of the brilliant Cate Blanchett (as seen in photo 8), who is nominated for her stunning performance in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
The 44-year-old star left the Critics' Choice ceremony happy, picking up the leading acting prize. If Blanchett can hold off fellow Oscar winner and Gravity star Sandra Bullock (as seen in photo 9 with Oprah Winfrey) she will become the first Australian to win two Academy Awards for acting.
One emotional highlight was when Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave) accepted her Best Supporting Actress Award (as seen in photo 10).
Another Oscar safe bet seems to be in the prestigious Best Original Screenplay section, with Spike Jonze triumphing for Her at the Critics' Choice.
Dallas Buyers Club is one of those films which is being recognised, almost exclusively, in the performing categories. Comeback kid Matthew McConaughey (as seen in photo 11 with Tom Hanks) walked away with the Best Actor award, with co-star Jared Leto winning the Best Supporting Actor (as seen in photo 12).
The lead acting category at the Oscars is one of the most hotly contested, with McConaughey facing stern competition from Christian Bale, Bruce Dern (as seen in photo 13 with co-star June Squibb), Chiwetel Ejiofor (as seen in photo 14) and Leonardo DiCaprio (as seen with co-star Jonah Hill in photo 15).
