Keanu Reeves Talks Bill & Ted's Third Excellent Adventure

Box office king Keanu Reeves says the script for the third Bill & Ted movie is “getting better and better”.

Previously the Matrix actor has spoken about his excitement about reuniting on screen with his comedy costar and friend Alex Winter.

The pair starred together in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) which helped launch Reeves big time career.

The movies centered on two air headed but loveable teenagers and their adventures as time travellers.

And Keanu revealed that while the script is still being developed, he has high hopes that the sequel will happen.

Keanu said (via Reuters): "We're still trying to make that thing. They're still working on the script.

"There's some new ideas, over the years it's been getting better and better and hopefully one day we can make that film."

Despite the idea of another Bill & Ted movie being a far from excellent, or even bogus – fellow star Winter quite rightly stated back in August that the characters would be even funnier as older guys.

Alex said (via The Next Web): “It’s exciting to come back to the characters. The fun thing about them is that they’re ageless. You play them in terms of who they are spiritually.

Their mannerism and physicality are not tied to age. We played them like 9-year-old kids.

They still have that quality. The comic potential of that becomes even better as it becomes more discordant. It will be funnier because they’re older.”

Indeed, the thought of the two clueless, yet well meaning, characters as middle aged men, trying to hold down jobs does open up a whole new world of comic possibilities.

Let's hope 2016 is a fruitful year for the long gestating sequel.
