Wagner and jazz - its an unusual combination, but Angelika Niescier, the winner of the German Echo prize for jazz, is willing to give it a whirl. In an experiment organized with the cooperation of Deutsche Welle, Niescier staged a jazzed-up version of "Parsifal" together with the German Women's Jazz Orchestra. Arts.21 was at the premiere in Washington, DC.
