Chanel's creative director Karl Lagerfeld is known for his opinion. In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Karl Lagerfeld said of the iconic fashion house, "we create a product nobody needs but people want." Kaiser Karl added this is exactly what makes Chanel so successful, saying, "You spend more for what you really want. An ugly old car can wait, but if you have a new fashion item, it cannot wait. We live on this whole idea."
