This year marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of Astro Boy, a TV show that helped define modern Japanese animation. The world famous robot-boy created by Osamu Tezuka has gone center stage at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, an event which showcases Japanese anime's biggest releases for the upcoming year and expects to attract 100,000 visitors before closing on 24 March.
