"Mission Moderne" Brings French Burlesque to Germany

In 1912, the Special League of West German Artists and Art Lovers, also known as Sonderbund, chose to stage a groundbreaking exhibition in Cologne. The Wallraf-Richartz-Museum celebrates the centennial of that show with a retrospective. The Sonderbund was from Düsseldorf but couldn't find a venue there but had been accepted by the city of Cologne. The aim of the Sonderbund exhibition, called "Mission Moderne," was to introduce the German audience to the latest developments of European Art.
