The Walking Dead Season 5 Sneak Previews and More

By Danny F. Santos (doddleNEWS)

AMC’s giant hit The Walking Dead will soon be back to grace our TV screens. After last season’s huge cliffhanger, audiences have been clamouring to know what’s next for the motley crew of zombie survivors.

Unfortunately, I don’t have the answers to those questions for you (sorry!), but I do have some links to behind the scenes footage for season 5. While the videos don’t show much in the form of actual footage from the upcoming season, the cast and crew promise loads of action and probably some zombie gore for good measure. According to Andrew Lincoln who plays Rick Grimes in the series, the next season is:

The most ambitious first episode I think we’ve attempted.

We’ve heard this hype before as the cast and crew last year made similar remarks about the first few scripts of season 4 which many people, frankly, thought were slow and maybe even a bit boring. You wouldn’t know that from the ratings, however, as the season 4 finale drew 15.7 million viewers, up from the 12.4 million who watched the then record-breaking Season 3.

If you haven’t seen the season 4 finale, be warned there are spoilers in these videos as they talk about the effect of those events on the shooting of season 5. Check out the the videos:

If you’re not up to date and don’t want to be spoiled on the series, fear not, AMC has you covered! Nothing says happy Independence Day quite like reliving the past 4 seasons of The Walking Dead. The entire series will premiere on the network starting at 9am on Friday and show every episode back to back as part of AMC’s Dead, White, and Blue weekend celebration. The marathon will build up to a sneak preview of the fifth Season on Sunday at 9pm which will be hosted by Chris Hardwick.

AMC will then air two documentaries later in July, Inside The Walking Dead with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show and Inside The Walking Dead: Walker University about the extra’s being put in the makeup chair to become, well, the walking dead. They air Tuesday, July 8 at 10pm and Tuesday, July 15 at 10pm, respectively.

The Walking Dead season 5 is set to premiere on October 12 on AMC.
