New Trailer & Posters: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

By Mark Hodge (doddleNEWS)

What can the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trailer show that the first one didn’t?

Well quite a lot actually. Firstly, the new preview is far more linear and give us a proper peak at the Turtles first meeting with April O’Neill played by Megan Fox. Here’s the trailer:

Interestingly, Shedder is huge and wields more blades than a wife of an adulteress hockey player. Also, William Fichtner, who is credited as playing the villain, doesn’t seem to actually be Shredder, although that may well be in the first part of the film.

Studio Paramount has also released four posters featuring the protagonists Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello:

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and produced by the brainless blockbuster icon and real-life Shredder Michael Bay, this project has slowly but surely turned around fan opinion.

Indeed, when the project was announced, Bay’s company Platinum Dunes revealed that the Turtles origin would be extraterrestrial.

Soon after Bay quickly released that you don’t mess with a property – which started as an 80s cult comic and then a hugely successful children’s cartoon – with such a massive fan base.

The new trailer addresses the controversial origins subject, with Fox responding to comedic actor Will Arnett’s question: "So they're aliens?" with: "No. That's stupid."

Whoopi Goldberg also appears in the preview, and along with Arnett, will hopefully provide some light relief amidst the overload of CGI, explosions and mind numbing action sequences.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be released on August 8th.
