Star Wars Rumors: Jedi Hunters And Latest On Ford's Injury

By Mark Hodge (doddleNEWS)

One of the biggest gripes Star Wars fans have with George Lucas, is the rather innocuous death of cult character Boba Fett in Return of the Jedi (1983).

However, while JJ Abrams is unable to use that character in Star Wars: Episode VII, it seems the film could have a touch of Fett after all.

Latino Review has reported that the Mandalorian clan – Fett wore Mandalorian armor – will feature prominently in the upcoming sequel.

The mysterious clan of Jedi hunters will reportedly include actors Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong’o, and will act as the main antagonists within the film.

While Disney has already hired both Josh Trank (The Fantastic Four reboot, Chronicle) and Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) to helm two of the spin-off movies, there is still no news as to which characters they will center around. But, a Boba Fett movie has long been rumored, and this latest piece of gossip may well indicate that Lucasfilm is going to make up for George Lucas’ neglect of the bounty hunter.

In other Star Wars news, it seems Harrison Ford’s injuries could have major implications for the production.

Several reports suggest that his recovery could take six months rather than six to eight weeks, meaning the story – which features Ford’s Han Solo in one of the lead roles – would need to be drastically altered.

The NY Post has revealed that Oscar Issac’s role is currently being expanded as a direct result of Ford’s broken leg. And while there is still no confirmation about Issac’s character, it is believed he will be featured as Solo’s son or relative.

Star Wars: Episode: VII will hit screens on December 2015.
