Star Wars: Episode VII Director JJ Abrams Responds To Leaked Millennium Falcon Pictures

We’ve seen some leaked photos from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, including a bunch from Tattooine (we assume), and also leaked images of the Millennium Falcon, which appears to be a full-scale, completely real set, vs. CGI!?Well, JJ Abrams via Bad Robot tweeted out a response via this image and handwritten note:

Clearly, Abrams wrote this with tongue firmly in cheek; isn’t that note laying on the Holochess set onboard the Millennium Falcon that C3PO and Chewbacca were playing on in Star Wars: A New Hope?

“Let the Wookie win.”

I think it might be wise for Abrams, Lucasfilm, and Disney to start releasing some official stills, much like Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan did with The Dark Knight Rises prior to filming that would see images leaked online. Clearly, an eager crew member or extra (or someone bigger?) is willing to put their job and career in filmmaking on the line for some TMZ big bucks.

I’d hate to see Star Wars: Episode VII lose some of its surprises due to spy reports and photos, much like the leaks?Jurassic World recently saw, with director Colin Trevorrow having to officially confirm many of the rumors. It really does lose the surprise element. And yes, I realize that we’re reporting it, but still…

Star Wars: Episode VII opens December 18, 2015.
