First Set Photos of Terminator: Genesis

The Terminator was an amazing film that introduced audiences to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 and launched three sequels over the years. The second film, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, is usually considered the best of the series and the last film in the series director?James Cameron worked on. Terminator 3 and 4 just got progressively worse, and as much as I wanted to see the human/skynet war, what we got in Terminator: Salvation wasn’t anywhere as good as what was glimpsed in it’s predecessors.
Still, all the Terminator movies did well and so production is well underway for a 5th film called Terminator: Genesis! The Daily Mail got its hands on the first set photos showing Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger in what looks like a hospital from the scrubs. Here’s a gallery of those images.

As you can see, Schwarzenegger is no longer as young as he was in the first and second film. He already explained back in March that while the terminator is a robot, the flesh on top of the skeleton is alive and ages, which means he’s been seriously pumping iron to get his old body back in shape.
There has also been an anonymous source who described a scene from the first film, but in Genesis, where The Terminator first encounters the punks and take their clothing to go hunt down Sarah Connor, then the camera pans to an older Schwarzenegger watching.
This all tracks with the rumors that Terminator: Genesis will reboot the series a la Star Trek. Of the new actors, I never realized how much Emilia Clarke looks like Linda Hamilton; she’s almost unrecognizable as Daenerys Targaryen without her blonde wig.
Terminator: Genesis premieres in theaters July 1, 2015.
