How to Stay Fit While Creating Art

When you are creating a new series, you can get lost in the process. Things like eating, sleeping, and exercising can fall to the wayside. All you are focusing on is creating the art you see in your head and feel in your soul. But unfortunately, this leads to many negative side effects that will prevent you from creating the best art that you can. That is why staying healthy and active while creating art can benefit both the artist and the art.

Eat Healthily

Eating healthily is the first way to stay fit while you are in the midst of creating a new series. Make sure you are getting all the nutrients you need within your recommended amount of daily calories. If you are not able to work out a lot, keep that in mind when you are making your food choices. Maybe try to stay away from processed foods if you are not able to work off the excess negative ingredients. But try to limit these types of food anyway. But they may be part of your process, so just try to balance your intake with other healthy foods and how active you are. Foods to prioritize include lean proteins like chicken and fish, fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. Try to avoid salt and unhealthy fats in excess, but do remember that fat is still important to eat. Choose healthy fats like olive oil or avocado oil. While you should try to eat as healthy as possible, remember you can use vitamins to supplement your diet. There are also supplements you can use to help you lose weight when you are not able to be as active as you usually would like Thrive. New to supplements? You can always look into thrive side effects if you are hesitant.

Exercise as Much as Possible

While working on your new series may make it difficult to find time to exercise, try to stay as active as possible. Try standing while you work if that is something you can do. You can also set timers to every ten to fifteen minutes to remind you to get up and move around. You can walk around the block or do some stretches to make sure you are staying fit while working. You may want to lose yourself in your work, but it can be very important to set aside time every day to get active for at least thirty minutes. This can help you stay fit but can also help you with your creative process. Stepping away from the canvas, camera, paper, etc. can let your brain work through different aspects of your art that you would not have otherwise. Investing in a personal trainer can also keep you accountable when prioritizing your health when you are creating.

Limit Your Vices

To stay fit while you are creating, try to limit or cut out your vices. While there are artists who swear that alcohol or cigarettes are integral to their process, you want to make sure you are not doing something that can be detrimental to your body. Limiting these vices or cutting them out completely will allow you to focus on your art and not worry that you are not staying as healthy as possible. Your vices could also include not eating enough, eating excessively, or engaging in unhealthy foods. Just stay cognizant that hurting yourself is not synonymous with creating art.

Take a Break

Taking a break and caring for your mental health is just as important when staying fit as the above recommendations. Make sure you are caring for your mental health so you can work as effectively as possible. By taking breaks, you can ensure that you are being efficient during the time that you are working and creating. Caring for your mental health can be as simple as taking a meditation break once or twice a day or writing in a journal. Find what works for you and prioritize it.
