Everything You Need to Clean Your Home

There are certain cleaning products the home should not be without. You need cleaners that will effectively kill germs, speed up your cleaning routine, protect your items, remove stains and remove undesirable substances from your home. Consider these cleaners for your house-cleaning arsenal.

Bleach

Bleach is a highly effective cleaning agent, and a little goes a long way. To effectively disinfect most surfaces, you just need a cap-full per gallon of water. Everything you touch in the world can end up in your home. That's scary when you consider things like pneumonia, MRSA, streptococcal infections, fecal matter and a host of other germs, bacteria and viruses that are in the world. You can't get rid of them in the rest of the world, but you can get rid of them in your home. Make a solution of bleach and water. Use gloves if your skin is sensitive and to prevent your body from absorbing chemicals. If you like more natural ways of cleaning, you can rinse bleach away, but you don't need a large amount to disinfect your home, so the amount you're exposed to is minimal.

Carpet Cleaner

It’s a good idea to always have a good carpet cleaning spray on hand. Accidents happen and usually that means spills on the carpet. Being able to react fast to spills on a carpet can be half the battle. Even with the use of a carpet cleaner, It’s a good idea after several years to get a commercial carpet cleaning done to the carpets in your house.

Multi-surface Cleaner

You're a busy person, and you need to make the most of your time. Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this. Bleach is a wonderful cleaning product to have in the home, but you can't put it on some types of wood and other surfaces. For these surfaces, you need a good multi-surface cleaner that can still kill the nastiest of germs while safely cleaning and protecting your things. This will help you to reduce your cleaning time as well. Be sure not to cross-contaminate between surfaces. For instance, don't wipe down your countertops after wiping down your tub. Use multiple rags and different solutions if need be. You can disinfect them in the washer after you're finished with cleaning.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is amazing. It softens water and can be taken internally, but it does wonders for the home. For starters, it deodorizes the home. It can be placed in the freezer or in the fridge to soak up nasty odors. It'll help keep that fridge and freezer taste out of food. You can pour some into the sink to help clean and deodorize the sink. Turn on the disposal for extra scrubbing action. Baking soda doesn't scratch surfaces, and it can be used on your sinks, Teflon pans, tubs, and baking soda can be used for tile cleaning. To remove pet or child urine from a mattress or carpet, first, soak with vinegar, and sprinkle baking soda on top. The baking soda will pull the urine up out of the mattress and the carpet. Baking soda can be added to the wash as a laundry booster, and it can help to scrub out yellow stains from shirts.

Vinegar

No home is complete without distilled white vinegar. You can use it as a pre-treater for your clothes. Some stains can be loosened by vinegar because it helps to neutralize stains. Vinegar can be used to clean glass, remove grease, remove gum from the carpet, and it also helps to deodorize the home. For extra softness in your laundry, rinse your clothes with vinegar.

Hard-water Deposit Remover

There are a few hard-water deposit removers on the market, so you'll have to try one that meets your needs. They'll drastically reduce your house cleaning time. They're useful in the bathroom: in your tub, on the tile, the bathroom sink and your toilet. You can also use it to clean out your coffee pot, but you will need to rinse it extra well.

Decades ago, companies tried telling people they needed a specific cleaner because no other was going to meet the same need. This resulted in having a ton of outdated products, but companies wised up once they figured out how to make things easier for the consumer. Thankfully, a few cleaners go a long way to make your house cleaning a breeze.
