At Comic-Con, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez released a red band trailer, and it’s now online! It’s Not Safe For Work, but it’s pretty killer (literally and figuratively), plus several new posters!
You gotta love that the opening shot of this extended trailer features Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez as a pair of down-on-their-luck dudes in an alley! The visuals are even more impressive than the first Sin City, and I love how this trailer (and maybe the movie?) make it even more comic book-like with word balloons and shots directly from the pages of Miller’s ground-breaking graphic novel.
While I enjoyed the first Sin City, I had some issues with the dialogue; what reads well in comic book form doesn’t always translate to the screen. That’s nitpicking, I agree; when I watched it on DVD, I was able to dig up my copy of the first Sin City graphic novel, featuring Marv and Nancy, and I literally paused the movie and compared it to the panels. Fit perfectly!
