I was born on Long Island, New York. My dad was a professional artist and I would watch him draw, paint, restore paintings, and frame while I was growing up. My major was art, my first two years of college and then I transferred and majored in special education. I received a BS in special education and later a Masters of Education in special education. I am a published author and photographer. I am now retired from teaching and enjoy painting, writing, and photography. I live in Eastern North Carolina, am married, and have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and three granddaughters. I also have a cat.
