I like to think of my art spiritually - that the Divine is calling me, asking something of me, and I want to have a practice of showing up as fast as possible. I must listen closely and act on guidance quickly to learn the course of my own creative thrust, to know how the Divine speaks to me, how the spark works in me, and how to get it out. Answering the artist's call means listening to what my heart is asking me to do. It's the creative thing that's calling me to try, to do, to paint, to craft, to build, or to make. I enjoy blazing this path with others in a classroom setting who connect with their own artistic calling. I prefer using acrylic and watercolor paints, sketchbooks, panel boards, stretched canvas, table easels, Micron pens, graphite pencils, soft colored pencils, Sharpie markers, Aquash brushes, and size 6 pointed round, size 1/4 flat angle, and size 3/4 wash oval brushes. Basic acrylic colors I use include: Titanium White, Yellow Ochre, Cobalt Blue, Cadmium Red Light, and Cadmium Yellow Medium.
