Cool Jobs That Art Majors Can Get

Are you studying art in college and are starting to think about the kinds of things you might want to do after you graduate? When people have artistic talent, it usually makes it a suitable choice to study the same field in school. Once an art major has graduated and is out in the world, there's no limit to the things they can do with their education and talent. Art has many purposes in peoples' lives and can be part of a lucrative career as well. It never hurts to broaden your horizons and imagine the possibilities.

Interior Designer

Many people just don't have the knack for decorating their own house. Especially for busy professionals, it helps to have someone on call who can assist you in all your design needs. An interior designer helps people design exactly how they wish their home to look. Designers choose paint and wallpaper for walls, find carpets to match the schemes, alter furniture, and much more. Some people let an interior designer make all the choices for their homes, while others just use a professional to decorate a room or two. Designers can help people choose which types of entranceways to use inside their homes like interior glass doors.

Logo Architect

You'd be surprised how many businesses outsource the work to create their company logo or emblem. Logo architecture involves creating a meaningful, catchy, and lasting logo that gives a business its brand. Creating a logo is part of branding, and this is a very popular concept right now. When a company wants to advertise, using its logo on promotional items helps boost its business and grow its customer base. Businesses need logos to create employee uniforms, illuminated signs, and business cards. When you've gone to school studying how to create art, you can use these skills to design great logos for great companies. You never know, you could end up making the next famous or popular emblem.

Gallery Director

A popular profession for art majors is to be a gallery director. Artists put their work in galleries so it can be seen and appreciated by viewers. Galleries also serve an important purpose to help artists sell their art and make a living. The director helps host events in the gallery, guides customers through the artwork, and sells pieces of art. This kind of job requires a person to have a vast knowledge of the arts and a talent to create art as well. A gallery director must also have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to sell. The director will represent not only the whole gallery but each individual artist as well. Some directors can make commissions for selling pieces of art, and other times they may own part of the gallery as well.

Art Teacher

One of the most rewarding ways an art major can give back to the community is by being an art teacher. It takes a special person to be able to create art and teach it to others. Instructors who teach children how to create art are instilling a great gift in their lives. Most artists started drawing and painting as children in school classes. Even if the youngsters don't grow up to be famous artists, they still will enjoy their time in your class. Art is incredibly enjoyable for little ones, and it can be quite rewarding to be able to do this each day. For young students, going to art classes is usually seen more as a type of diversion rather than an actual class. Some kids can't wait to see their art teacher because they consider it the most fun of their academic week.

When you have the talent to study art in university, you open doors to many possibilities in the realm of careers. When you put your mind and skills together, there's no limit to what you can accomplish when you try.
