American Horror Story Coming to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights

Horror fans were delighted to find out that the beloved horror anthology series will be making its way to Universal’s annual Halloween festivities this year. Universal made the announcement this morning with a press release and a video on it’s Halloween Horror Nights YouTube channel.

Three of the seasons will be represented, with “Murder House,” “Freak Show,” and “Hotel” serving as the inspiration for the haunted house. Universal will be implementing AHS at both its Orlando and Hollywood locations.

Every year, Universal Studios transforms its theme parks into a Halloween extravaganza, turning the streets of its parks into themed “scare-zones” and erecting elaborate haunted houses, with several being based around popular horror icons. This year, American Horror Story will be joining the likes of Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, and several other classic horror characters, plus newer fare like The Walking Dead and The Purge.

Michael Aiello, Director of Entertainment Creative Development for Universal Orlando Resort, was quoted saying, “American Horror Story is engaging for so many reasons, one of them being the fantastic way each installment of the series reveals completely new characters and stories for its viewers. It’s that constant evolution that makes this popular series a perfect fit for Halloween Horror Nights — and we can’t wait for our guests to experience some of the horror they’ve seen on the show.”

Universal’s Horror Nights will run select nights in September and October, beginning on Sept. 16th.
